It's Corby for Us!

22-Nov-2014 Tapestry continues its visit to England by heading to Corby!

Following the success of our week in the magnificent Doncaster Minster (see here for details), we're now on the road to visit Corby in Northamptonshire.

There will be an opening event on November 24th led by Deputy Mayor, Cllr Lucy Goult, and Cllr John McGhee - ever a Scottish Heritage Champion. It'll be a grand moment, with piping and dancing included of course! Venue rentals have been sponsored by Corby Council's Arts Grants 2014/ 2015 - thanks for that.

During our stay there'll be tapestry demonstrations provided by Maggie Wood, and Corby stitchers will be on hand throughout to guide visitors around the Tapestry and explain its local significance.

There are six Corby panels in all and with high media interest from the BBC and local press, [Northants Telegraph above], as well as all the stitchers and their contacts, high visitor numbers are expected over the next 10 days. Tapestry souvenir merchandise for Christmas gifts will also be available.

This will be the Tapestry's last full exhibition of 2014 - although a selection of panels will be heading to Musselburgh Museum in East Lothian 11th-20th December - so if you're in the area, don't miss out!
