Celebrating the official launch of Homecoming 2014…

In the spectacular surroundings of Hopetoun House, made all the more attractive by the latest coverings of snow, Visit Scotland officially launched the Homecoming 2014 programme last week.

The launch itself took place in the ballroom, and First Minister Alex Salmond gave an address which stressed not only the excitement offered by the planned programme but also its significance to the tourism economy of Scotland. After the formalities, representatives of those projects which are part of the official Homecoming programme attended an informal workshop which offered the chance to explore potential connections between our activities.

The Scottish Diaspora Tapestry is delighted to have received the support of Visit Scotland, enabling us to be a part of the official Year of Homecoming.

As our plans develop for exhibitions and events throughout 2014, they’ll be detailed on the official Homecoming website here as well as on our own site.
