The opportunity has arisen to exhibit the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry in all its glory at the Prestoungrange Gothenburg this Spring and Summer. The proposal is that it will be displayed grouped by Occupations taken up across the diaspora rather than the more traditional country by country – that is of course still available on the APP downloadable at https://scottish-diaspora-tapestry.web.app/get.html and in all the publications.
The new display pattern by occupations is also available at the updated APP.
We’ll need as ever to ask Volunteers to assist with staffing when we’re open please – which we initially plan for weekends 11- 4 Saturday & Sunday and as appropriate on special weekdays on request. We’re expecting to have coffees/ teas available on sale for visitors and a Donations Box to help meet the on-costs of the premises.
A long term consultation on What Next? for the Gothenburg is under way already …but there’s a public Open Meeting All Welcome at 6pm on Wednesday March 12th at Prestonpans Town Hall if you can make that. Might it perhaps become the tapestry’s permanent home?
