Billy Kay comes to Prestonpans in support of the Diaspora Tapestry!

Writer and broadcaster Billy Kay has been a great supporter of our project from its earliest days, not only in providing advice and information but even speaking at our official launch at the Scottish Storytelling Centre. His recent book The Scottish World proved inspirational to our team and so we have long been delighted that Billy has agreed to share with us his vast knowledge of the Diaspora.

On Tuesday 4th December there is a fantastic opportunity for all those interested to hear Billy speak about the Scottish World, drawing on his extensive research and travel experiences as he takes us on a journey through the global influence of Scots, their culture and their ideas.

Billy will be first be speaking to pupils and Preston Lodge School before heading to the Prestoungrange Gothenburg for a public talk, which will also feature material collected during his many broadcast programmes on the subject. Entry is free but it is sure to prove popular so entrance will be on a first-come first-served basis!

The event has been supported by the Scottish Book Trust’s Live Literature Fund.
